Nerys of Tignes i’r Tŷ as she cycles almost 1000 from Tignes in the French Alps back to her hometown in Trelech, Carmarthenshire. She has set herself the ambitious target of completing this journey in just 10 days – that’s 100 miles every day! That’s about the same as they complete in the Tour de France!
Nerys was inspired to take this incredible journey after she lost her father to a heart attack at the age of 57. She is raising money for the charity Calon Heart Screening and Defibrillators. Calon aims to improve the accessibility and availability of defibrillators in Wales. They also provide CPR and defibrillator training.
Did you know that just 1 in 10 people survive an out of hospital cardiac arrest in the UK?
Calon also provides heart screening to identify people with undiagnosed heart conditions.
At least 12 seemingly healthy young people die every week in the UK from heart conditions they didn't even know they had.
Lodi first heard about this exceptionally worthy cause from Nerys’s aunt and uncle who own Dewi Valley Wholesale in Camarthen. We are pleased to be sponsoring her and helping her to reach her target of £7,500. She’s currently at £5,700 so every penny counts.
Good luck Nerys! Pob lwc! We’re all behind you!
