Lodi UK's Kate interviews Karl Franklin (@the_pretend_farmer) on his experiences as a young, up and coming farmer trying to break into the industry.
The Instagram star juggles his farming & gardening businesses with being a Yellow Wellies & NFU Ambassador & the Official Unofficial BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show farmer.
Lodi’s Kate & Sam travelled to Oxfordshire to interview Karl Franklin (A.K.A. @the_pretend_farmer) for a new video series called Agri Bites. The Agri Bites series is going to spotlight young farmers and people in the wider rural community. Karl left school at 16 to become a fully qualified chef, but his passion for agriculture and the outdoors led him to follow a different path. He just lambed his first flock of ewes this year, after having previously bought on store lambs. Karl also makes hay and has a thriving gardening business. A rising social media star, he uses his platform to spread awareness of important issues like farm safety. He is a Yellow Wellies and NFU ambassador, as well as an advocate for mental health awareness. We asked Karl about his life and his experiences of becoming a farmer, his ambitions for the future and his thoughts on the rural community.
