2024, that’s a wrap! We wanted to take this opportunity to reflect on what has been a momentous 12 months for Lodi UK. Celebrating our 20th anniversary with some closing words from our Managing Director, Roger -
“20 Years! How quickly time flies…it has been a real pleasure seeing how the Lodi business and team have developed over the years - many of our team as well as many of our customers have been with us since the beginning! We pride ourselves on delivering quality products coupled with a reliable good service.
Lodi wouldn't be where it is now without the product, passion and the people, our team and very importantly the loyalty of our customers. Thank you for all your support over the years and cheers to many more to come!” - Roger Simpson
Think Big Think Lodi:
Every year, we aim to push boundaries—whether through product innovation, customer engagement, or standout events. 2024 was no exception! Here’s a month-by-month look back at our highlights, sit back, relax and enjoy…
January:
We kicked off the year supporting British Farmers at LAMMA 2024, showcasing our solutions for rodent and pest control. Worth the mention, our Racan Anti Rodent spray was the talk of the show, the must have product to protect your farming machinery from rodent attack. Team Lodi were in attendance in force, meeting and greeting farmers facing pest challenges and discussing all things agri. We’ll be back in Jan 2025 - and we can’t wait!
Staying Midlands based (our HQ, if you hadn’t already guessed from our accents) we attended the AHDA Conference, where we learnt about exciting new discoveries in animal health, rubbed shoulders with the industry’s best and found out about the vital work happening in animal care and wellbeing, whilst showcasing some of our favourite products along the way. Our Cholecalciferol Harmonix Rodent Paste was a big hit, especially with the new legislation changes on the horizon, setting users up for a strong 2025.
February:
After January’s event overload we thought we’d have a little break and use that time to release our 2024 Brochure trio for all sectors. And they were extra special "Anniversary Editions!" We may be biased but our design team did a fantastic job capturing the essence of each industry. Take a look below to see them in all their gloss and glory, and if you think these are good…wait until you see what we created for PestEx!
March:
March was memorable, the month we ramped back up the anti, letting the “Rat” out the bag with the introduction of our newest team member. Razzle the Rat, our wonderful brand ambassador made his entrance and was up to his usual mischief. Excited to sink his teeth in, we threw him straight in the deep end at PestEX - tails and all!
Now as you know Lodi doesn't do things by half, at PestEX we presented PESTIVAL! Two days of festival-themed fun without the pests. We did however have a killer lineup; Mice Girls, Elvis Pestley, BugZone, Fleawood Mac, Sting and the Grain Beatles, to name but a few! Ain't no party like a Lodi party, we continued the celebrations long into the evening with a cruise along the River Thames joined by some very important Petsies (V.I.P’s) I think it's safe to say you all loved it as much as we did.
April:
April marked the start of harvest happenings, with a full campaign of farmer facts and top tips to pest protect grain stores. We also continued to keep Razzle occupied by organising a “Razzle On The Road” meet and greet at T H Whites. Razzle had a fantastic time meeting the wider Lodi family and supporters, and felt like a super celeb with all the photo requests! Fans flocked to see him, and we showed our appreciation with goody bags for those who came out to support us.
May:
In May we headed back to the NEC for The British Pig & Poultry Fair, where we showcased our newest innovations for poultry hygiene; Defender Poultry Tonic and Defender Poultry Recharge for the very first time. Meanwhile, the Lodi crew tackled the “Harvey vs. the Expo” challenge, adding some fun to the event, whilst spotting all the pigs and chickens along the way. Unfortunately the Expo beat us this time but there’s always a next time aye!
And for PCO’s, we embarked on the first Adventure Networking event of the year, a Deep Sea Fishing Trip with a difference. Whilst we didn't catch any sharks we certainly made a splash, the Lodi UK crew set sail from Exmouth and an o-fish-ally awesome day of fishing was had by all. We definitely pushed the boat out on this one (*cough cough*!) Who do you think caught the biggest fish? We'll let you guess...
June / July:
Half way through the year - June we were all set to welcome wasp season… but they didn’t feel like making their usual buzz (maybe our Insecto range scared them off?). Instead, we spent a few sunny days popping down to visit the Cereals event, where we spotted some amazing artwork painted on tractors and learnt more about the Arable world.
By the time July rolled around Harvest season was in full force and our K-Obiol grain store protection campaign was hitting the trade press, making its mark digitally and in print. We discussed all things protection and prevention on our socials to help support British Farmers and keep their harvest running smoothly and pest-free. In the PCO world we announced our training courses in RSPH Level 2 for safe use of rodenticides and insect awareness. Working closely with our amazing trainer Debbie Wilson to help professionals get qualified.
August:
August saw the launch of two groundbreaking products - Digrain Cimex Detector for PCO, the new way to uncover Bed Bugs. Alongside our Retail Racan Grab Bags, small but mighty, three of a kind formulations to target smaller rodent infestations.
And for some added fun we joined the world in celebrating the Olympic games, taking to socials to make some noise with our very own Pest Olympic Awards. Crowning Fleas the best high jumpers, Flies voted the fastest flyers and Rats taking the top spot in gymnastics. It really was pest-acular!
September:
Well this month was a biggie…a brilliant team effort from the Lodi crew who were here, there and everywhere!
Officially our anniversary month September was a whirlwind for Lodi UK, packed with exciting events and milestones to note! We kicked things off at Glee, our “Pest Circus” came to town bringing the "Pest Show on Earth" to the garden retail community. Razzle the ringmaster and his big top full of pest surprises entertained with games & giveaways galore. On the product front, we spotlighted our Racan Grab Bags, Anti-Rodent Sealant and even teased our upcoming Organ-X Slug Killer Lentils, set to make its debut in 2025.
Later in the month, our 2nd installment of Adventure Networking provided another unforgettable experience for our pest professionals. Participants navigated hidden waterfalls and embraced the thrill of the great outdoors while bonding over shared challenges and triumphs in the pest control industry. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive with many attendees describing it as a refreshing and inspiring way to network, far removed from the usual settings.
Meanwhile, our sales reps proudly represented us at the National Pest Awards. Celebrating the brilliant people that make up the British pest control sector, so of course we couldn't miss out! Our highlight of the night was mingling with customers and suppliers that we haven't seen in a while, and even some who have now retired. Seeing the companies and the people that we work with getting recognised and winning awards for the outstanding work they do in the industry is always a joy to witness and be part of. Huge congratulations to all the award winners and nominees - you’re the PEST!
To close out September our magical Marketing Team attended the Midlands Marketing Awards as finalists in the category of “Best B2B Creativity” for our amazing PestEx pest posters. We may not have won but we had such an amazing time, full of glitz, glam and the best of the midlands marketers, we were humbled to be recognised.
October:
Spooky season hit in October. Creeping it real on social media with our Halloween pest busters and no tricks just treats for managing everything that goes bump in the night or buzz in the day - Head over to @lodi_uk to recap our halloween highlights! We also debuted our NEW Knitwire Mesh for the PCO community. Tough, durable, and versatile your first line of defence against rodent invasion.
November:
Remember, Remember a fantastic November! Middle of the month we jumped on the M6 down to Milton Keynes for PestTech 2024. The place to be to connect with pest control professionals and share industry insights. A hive of activity, the Lodi stand did not disappoint, we showcased our NEW Cimex Detector, the ultimate tool for Bed Bug detection and debuted our NEW Knitwire Mesh. Once again, the star of the show was Razzle, bringing his big Rat energy and sharing the Lodi feel good!
With rodent season in full swing, November also marked the launch of not one but three exciting Rodent Raffles to celebrate Lodi UK’s 20th anniversary (20 years, 20 prizes!) Two raffles for the agricultural sector and one pest controller bonanza! The response was insane, with hundreds of entries and plenty of delighted winners taking home everything from premium pest products to exclusive Lodi merchandise. The success of these raffles has us excited for what’s to come - so keep your eyes peeled for more competitions in 2025, we have some big surprises in store!
December:
December did not disappoint! Our final event of 2024, the Downland Conference with Team Lodi in attendance. Showcasing the best in rodent control alongside our one-stop-shop of fly control solutions, all whilst offering valuable insights into the future of farming excellence in the UK. A fantastic opportunity to connect, share knowledge and learn from the farming community.
December also marked the exciting launch of our Lodi Roadshows - a new training initiative designed to empower farmers, getting them rodent ready for 2026 when legislative changes are coming. Working together with Lodi’s agri customers, our farmer focused training will offer both classroom sessions and flexible e-learning options tailored to farmers’ needs. Through the training program participants will gain access to CRRU-approved certifications, ensuring they stay compliant and maintain the highest standards of pest control. #BaitingMadeBetter
As we look forward to 2025, for more events, training programs and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Live, Laugh, Lodi! Thank you for your continued support, and cheers to the new year!
